The
ewes are hefted to Black and Blanch fell where they graze right up
to Ward Stone which is the highest point in Lancashire at 1950 ft.
The Dalesbreds spend most of their life on the fell just coming down to the farm stead for lambing and routine jobs.
The Dalesbreds are well suited to endure the hardships of exposed and high lying situations.
Our Swaledale sheep live on separate fells to the Dalesbreds Winder, Moorcock and Deep Clough, where they spend most of their lives grazing on heather and moorland. The Swaledale is the most popular hill breed of sheep for hardiness and excellent mothering ability and can survive on the highest fell farm.
